Oncu takes 2nd in Cremona Superpole, Mahendra close to top ten

A more than encouraging start for the Yamaha BLU CRU Evan Bros Team at Cremona, venue of the fourth round of the season. In Superpole at the Cremona Circuit Can Oncu once again battled for pole position, taking 2nd, while Aldi Mahendra finished 12th.

In the morning Can and Aldi took to the track for the only free practice session available. Oncu put in 18 laps and took 3rd place, while Mahendra - author of a “rescue” in style - took 12th with the same number of laps.

In the afternoon it was time for Superpole. Oncu was immediately fast, steadily improving his times until he came close to his third consecutive pole position, taking 2nd place, just 40 thousandths from pole position. Mahendra also had a good session, who after being in the top ten for several minutes finished 12th, just over a tenth from 10th position.

Now everything is ready for the races. Tomorrow - at 15.15 CET - Race 1, over a distance of 20 laps, will be staged.

Aldi Mahendra
"It was a positive first day. In Superpole we could perhaps have done even better, but I have good feelings about the race. We will try to do our best, although it certainly won't be an easy race”.

Can Oncu
"I am very happy with this first day. We still have to improve a bit, but everything should be fine. A lot of riders followed me today to do a fast lap: it was funny, and it confirmed to me that we are in a very good situation. Tomorrow I think we will have fun”
