Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team ends Portimao weekend with an encouraging P9

It was a positive race Sunday for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team, with Lorenzo Dalla Porta taking 9th place in Race 2 at Portimao, confirming the progress made over the weekend.

After finishing the Warm Up in 9th position, just a few tenths off the top five, Dalla Porta took to the track for Race 2, marked by rising winds in some parts of the track. The start did not smile on the Tuscan rider, who was forced to move up from 15th position: halfway through the race Dalla Porta moved up to 12th place, putting the top ten in his sights, which he reached with four laps to go.

In the final Lorenzo maintained an excellent pace, aiming to catch up with the group of riders in front of him, and managed to take 9th place under the chequered flag. So an encouraging end to the Portuguese weekend for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team, which can now prepare for the final act of its 2023 season, scheduled for 27-29 October at the Jerez circuit.

Lorenzo Dalla Porta - P9
"I am happy to have improved on yesterday's result, even though the race was not easy. The wind changed the conditions, and after a not really positive start it took me a few laps to make up ground on those ahead of me. My pace wasn't bad, in fact I managed to recover as far as P9, which allows us to bring home important points. Now we just have to close the season on a high note".

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal)
"We can close the weekend positively, especially thanks to the growth we made day after day. Perhaps we could have aimed for a slightly better result given our speed, but races are unpredictable and two top tens are certainly an encouraging haul”.
