The sweetest day of the year opened with the traditional warm up, held on a dry track and concluded by Locatelli in first position, thanks to a time of 1'45"416. At 12.30 the fateful moment of Race 2 arrived: after a good but not excellent start from the first box Locatelli crossed the finish line of the first lap in fourth position, fighting for the success.
In the following laps the future World Champion, with great intelligence and tranquillity, controlled the situation gaining one position after the other, until he conquered the first position during the ninth of the seventeen laps.
Once in the lead Locatelli showed all his talent again: the number 55 managed to take advantage of his pursuers (including Mahias, the direct rival for the title) lap after lap, until he crossed the finish line victorious, taking the tenth victory out of eleven races run and above all becoming mathematically the 2020 Supersport World Champion, given the 104 points lead over Mahias two rounds from the end of the championship.
Andrea Locatelli is the first Italian Supersport World Champion in the history of the category, thanks to a simply perfect season in which he conquered, in addition to the already mentioned successes, all the available pole positions. For the BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team the conquest of the world title is once again the crowning achievement of a dream, the best reward after the great work done since the first day of the new season, which once again places Fabio Evangelista's structure among the best teams on the world motorsport scene.

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "The title won today is the crowning achievement of an incredible and crazy season, which began with a victory in Australia that we hoped for but weren't sure about. Andrea was fantastic, he confirmed to us that he is a pure talent but also a great worker. To win ten out of eleven races is something unimaginable, and to be champions again is simply fantastic. I really have to thank the whole team, who have worked in an excellent way. Everyone has learned a lot since last season, and this year the growth has been evident, I also have to thank Yamaha, as we have never had a technical problem in two years. I am really proud of my team!".
Andrea Locatelli: "What a fantastic day! Today's result is the long-awaited result of the work we did every day, the alchemy with the team was perfect from the very first moment, we all wanted to reach this goal and we succeeded. I wanted to redeem the blurred victory yesterday, so I managed the race in the first phase and then imposed my pace. Now it's time to celebrate, but I'm not satisfied. There are still two rounds left at the end, and I want to continue to have fun and win together with this great team. Winning a world title is something hard to explain, I'm over the moon!".
