Round Just 1 - Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team and Baldassarri end Mugello weekend winning Race 2

Round Just 1 of the CIV2022 concluded in the best possible way for the Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team, with Lorenzo Baldassarri solo winner of Race 2. A result that confirms the excellent work done by team and rider, in a weekend of racing – as a wild card - that was fruitful both from a technical and sporting point of view.

In the morning Lorenzo took to the track for the warm-up, where he put together 7 laps, obtaining the first position thanks to a time of 1'53"531. In the late afternoon at Mugello it was time for Race 2, which again saw Baldassarri start well from pole position and quickly take the reins of the race.

Determined to maintain a steady pace the Italian rider began to take a margin over the rest of the group, going into the breakaway followed by Spinelli. As in Race 1, the end of the race was decisive, with Baldassarri good at not raising his race pace, managing to stretch out on his breakaway companion, to pass first under the chequered flag.

The Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team can therefore be very satisfied with the results of the Tuscan weekend, and is now ready - with a bigger quantity of information - to tackle the next round of the Supersport World Championship. This one will be back on stage at Donington, UK, over the weekend of 17 July.

Round Just 1 - Race 2 results
P1 - Lorenzo Baldassarri (Evan Bros. WorldSSP Yamaha Team, Yamaha)

P2 - Nicholas Spinelli (Ducati)
P3 - Matteo Ferrari (Ducati)
P4 - Matteo Patacca (Ducati)
P5 - Stefano Valtulini (Yamaha)

Lorenzo Baldassarri:
"This weekend was a really good training session, useful from all points of view: we needed to do some tests, which we managed to complete session after session. Today's race was also testing, as Spinelli was able to follow me for most of the race. At the end I managed to keep my pace, despite the great heat, which allowed me to go away and win. Now we have to keep working, with the clear objective of returning to win in the WorldSSP as well".

Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal):
"I am very satisfied with how the weekend went, because as we hoped we were able to gain important information, making several setup tests. The pole position and the two victories obtained by Lorenzo are certainly an added value, which motivate us in view of the future. I thank the FMI and Just 1 for having us at Mugello. Now it is time to look ahead, as many exciting challenges await us".
