Andrea the great: Locatelli conquers Race 2 in Aragon. Ninth victory in the season, never anyone like him in the history of WorldSSP

Another page in the history of the WorldSSP championship was written today by BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP and Andrea Locatelli, who won the ninth success of his fabulous rookie season on the Aragon track. A historic victory that allows Locatelli to become the most successful rider in a single season in the history of the category, assisted by the excellent work of the reigning world champion team.

After finishing the morning warm up in first position thanks to a time of 1'53"520, almost eight tenths faster than the second fastest in the standings, Locatelli obviously also benefited in Race 2 of the start from pole position, being part of the leading group right from the start.

During the fourth lap a contact at turn one put out of the race the momentary leaders of the race, De Rosa and Cluzel (to whom the whole team wishes a quick recovery), allowing Locatelli to take the lead of the race. The rider from Bergamo was thus able to start to impress his pace in the race, taking lap after lap advantage over his pursuers, until he crossed the finish line alone.

The ninth victory in nine races raced allows Andrea not only to enter again in history, but also to increase significantly his advantage in the standings, where he occupies the first position with now 79 points ahead of Cluzel. For the BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team now opens a week of well-deserved rest, while the following weekend (18-20 September) bikes will be back on the track in Barcelona, for the sixth round of the season.

Andrea Locatelli: "We concluded Aragon's double commitment in the sweetest possible way. I am really sorry about the accident between De Rosa and Cluzel, unfortunately the races are also this and I want to wish Jules a good recovery. Apart from that I can say that our great work has paid off again: the bike has allowed me to manage the various parts of the race, managing lap after lap to make the difference over the rivals. Becoming the rider with the most successes in a season makes me very proud, and I can only thank the team for allowing me to reach this goal. Now we have a well-known track for me but not for the team, so we have to stay focused and still give our best".
