Steven Odendaal arrives in Spain in the running for the world title, given his second position in the overall standings and the absence of championship leader Aegerter for the upcoming round. Having scored five podiums in the last six races, the South African rider can look forward to the Catalan round with confidence, strong in his knowledge of the track and the positive results obtained last season.
Peter Sebestyen, galvanised by the progress made in the last round at Magny-Cours, is also ready to show his skills. With improved confidence in his Yamaha YZF-R6 and a better bond with the team, the Hungarian will be looking for a top ten finish, as well as important points for the championship.
The Evan Bros. team currently occupies third position in the team standings, just seven points behind second place. The weekend in Barcelona will start as usual on Friday, with the first two free practice sessions. Saturday will be time for the Superpole and Race 1, which will start at 13.45 instead of 15.15, while Sunday Race 2 will complete the weekend's program. As for Italy, the Superpole and the two races will be visible live on Sky Sport Action, channel 206 of Sky.

Steven Odendaal: "I'm confident ahead of Barcelona. In the last three rounds I struggled a little bit, also because of the lack of knowledge of the tracks, but now we are facing a track that I know and like. I expect to make important steps forward, first of all in terms of confidence with the bike. The weather will be an unknown factor as always, but I'm ready to get back on track with the team".
Peter Sebestyen: "I arrive in Barcelona very motivated, first of all thanks to the results and improvements made in the last round. The team and I already have a work plan in mind for the upcoming race, to be faster in qualifying and in general with the new tyres. Montmelò is a particular track, where grip could be lacking, but now I know I can count on a solid base from which to start, with the aim of obtaining great results".
Fabio Evangelista (Team Principal): "We have three intense weekends ahead of us, but it's right to think race by race. Barcelona is a very intriguing track, which Steven knows well thanks to his past experiences. Both he and the team are ready to give their best, focusing only on our situation. Peter showed very good signs in Magny - Cours, so I expect him to shine again in Spain".
