The two days of testing at the Portimao circuit for the BARDAHL Evan Bros. WorldSSP Team and Andrea Locatelli end with a smile and the second place of category. The appointment on the spectacular Portuguese track was the opportunity for the team to collect more data, after those collected in the previous test in Almeria, while for Locatelli was the opportunity to ride for the first time in what will be the stage of the tenth round of the 2020 World Supersport Championship.
During the first day the Italian rider made the acquaintance of the difficult and undulating track of the Algarve by making 56 laps, but this did not prevent him from setting good lap times. 1'45"554 was Locatelli's best time, which earned him the fourth position in his category.
In Day-2 (closed with 48 laps completed) the number 55 has since the morning replicated the times set the previous day, and then improved significantly. In the middle of the day Locatelli jumped to the top of the category standings with an excellent time of 1'44"660, which allowed him to finish second in his category both in the day's standings and in the combined two days of testing.
Andrea Locatelli: "I am happy with the outcome of these tests. Thanks to the good weather we were able to do a lot of laps over the two days: at the beginning we also worked on the fact that it was my first time on this track, but despite that the lap time came quite easily, which is very important. I am satisfied of the work done together with the team, I feel good and I think we already have the right harmony. Now we just have to wait for the next test and the first race in Phillip Island, where we will have to work immediately in the right way to be ready".
