Caricasulo and Krummenacher second and third in practice at Argentina

There are only two rounds left to go in the Supersport world championship and the penultimate is taking place this weekend at the San Juan Villicum circuit in Argentina.
Bardahl Evan Bros. riders Randy Krummenacher and Federico Caricasulo lie first and second respectively in the championship standings, the Swiss rider just ten points ahead of his team-mate. In Argentina, both want to give it their all and take another decisive step towards the world title.
During the morning’s free practice, which played out in hot and sunny conditions, the track proved to be very dirty, with a lot of sand carried onto its surface by the strong wind. In these difficult conditions, Krummenacher nevertheless set the second fast time (1’47”918) while Caricasulo closed twelfth (1’49”097).
In the afternoon the track was in a slightly better state and both Bardahl Evan Bros. riders improved on their lap times. Caricasulo, in particular, lowered his reference to move into second place overall, with a time of 1’46”292, right in front of Krummenacher, third with a best of 1’46”451.
Tomorrow the third free practice will be followed by the eleventh Superpole of the season, which will establish grid position for Sunday’s race.

Randy Krummenacher: “Today was a difficult day for everyone because, as we saw yesterday when walking the track, it’s in a really bad condition. Sure, it’s the same for everyone, but there are those who risk more and others who risk less if they crash, in light fo the championship situation. In the afternoon, we understood where we need to work on the bike and we can improve further, so I’m pleased with third and am convinced that tomorrow we’ll take another important step forward. Thanks to the team as they’ve done a great job as always.”

Federico Caricasulo: "The track conditions are really very difficult, especially for us who play the world title and we have to push hard but we can't risk a crash. This morning I started very cautiously to understand how to ride on this sandy track and only in the afternoon I tried to push harder. In the end I finished in second position and this give me hope for tomorrow's Superpole. Thanks to the team for the support they gave me today".
